Two principal passes in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Agriculture, Nutrition, Advanced Mathematics, Accountancy, Commerce, English Language, Kiswahili or Economics. If one of the principal passes is not in ’ Advanced Mathematics, an applicant must have at least a Pass in Basic Mathematics at O Level Arts, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition.

Kwa mfumo wa TCU, "Principal Pass" inamaanisha kupata alama kuanzia 'A' mpaka 'E' kwenye somo husika la Kidato cha Sita (A-Level). Alama ya 'S' (Subsidiary) na 'F' hazihesabiki kama Principal Pass.
Points za TCU hutolewa hivi: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. Ili kujiunga na masomo ya Shahada (Degree), mwanafunzi anapaswa kupata jumla ya points 4.0 au zaidi kutoka kwenye Principal Passes zake mbili kuu zinazohitajika.
