Two principal passes in the following Subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Advanced Mathematics. If one of the principal passes is not in Advanced Mathematics an applicant must have at least a subsidiary pass or a minimum of “D” grade in Mathematics at O-Level.

Kwa mfumo wa TCU, "Principal Pass" inamaanisha kupata alama kuanzia 'A' mpaka 'E' kwenye somo husika la Kidato cha Sita (A-Level). Alama ya 'S' (Subsidiary) na 'F' hazihesabiki kama Principal Pass.
Points za TCU hutolewa hivi: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. Ili kujiunga na masomo ya Shahada (Degree), mwanafunzi anapaswa kupata jumla ya points 4.0 au zaidi kutoka kwenye Principal Passes zake mbili kuu zinazohitajika.
