Admission to this programme will be open to holders of Certificate of Secondary Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) principle passes in Physics/Engineering Science, Basic Mathematics, English and two non-religious subjects OR holders of the National Vocational Award (NVA Level 3) offered by VETA in relevant field, and a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with two (2) principle passes including Basic mathematics.

Kwa mfumo wa TCU, "Principal Pass" inamaanisha kupata alama kuanzia 'A' mpaka 'E' kwenye somo husika la Kidato cha Sita (A-Level). Alama ya 'S' (Subsidiary) na 'F' hazihesabiki kama Principal Pass.
Points za TCU hutolewa hivi: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. Ili kujiunga na masomo ya Shahada (Degree), mwanafunzi anapaswa kupata jumla ya points 4.0 au zaidi kutoka kwenye Principal Passes zake mbili kuu zinazohitajika.
